at the time i was growing up in india i would have been limited. not having somebody to stop me in the streets... and ask me for my i.d. card or where i'm going. and not being surrounded by soldiers all the time. i thought there was a faster pace of life and more dynamic lifestyle. the liberty to apply... or actually practice any kind of business i wanted to practice here. even now, i still pinch myself and go, "my god, this is home." i mean, it still is amazing to me. they are seeking understanding. they are seeking well-being. they are seeking the future of themselves and their children like the first immigrants and pioneers that came to this country. okay. okay. good-bye. so, how's your brother ? fine. he says he is going to send me something to help me sleep. - maybe he could send something for me too. - you can't sleep, either ? no. i was up all night thinking about my future. i'm surprised you didn't fall asleep from boredom. - what's he sending ? - he wouldn't say. he wants to surprise me. maybe it's something to cancel out the five cups

that is india with over 1.5 million bahai's at this date. so there is quite a diversity there. all bahai houses of worship have nine sides; the house of worship here in wilmette is the oldest existing bahai house of worship. it has nine sides for some very simple reasons; they are not complicated at all or convoluted. the number nine is the largest number before numbers repeat therefore it is a symbol of culmination or unity. also in arabic and in persian words have numerical equivalents. the word baha has the numerical equivalent of nine in persian. so therefore the number nine is symbolic of unity, of culmination and of the glory of god. that's why bahai houses of worship have nine sides. the only requirement other than nine sides for a bahai house of worship is that it have a dome. >> see i wanted to bring that particular explanation in at this point to show you what happens when the social sciences and the humanities collide, you get total confusion here. because we had gordon melton here talking about what do we do with this sect/cult typology due to susanna's good question about christian

, india i look at myself and where i'm from with so much gratitude because there is such a rich culture and a heritage there. but i also have the opportunity of being an american so i really can take & grab from the best of both worlds i think it's very important that media outlets like link tv exist. if we focused on the differences we will be fighting forever. but the truth is there is unity in diversity. if we can bring that together with our art & music through our children, teaching them from the beginning it's so important to have that be the conversation to find out more visit linktv.org
